A Morning View

I have let the weeds and vines take over. They were so high at the end of the driveway that it was difficult to see. So I became motivated, took about 20 minutes of time and I cut, pulled and wrestled with them.  Upon finishing, the view of the road is much more clear and it is now safe to pull out into the street. S ort of silly to let it grow without care for so long, when simple maintenance would have kept it from being a huge problem. How about your relationship with God? Have you let the vines and weeds of busy block your view? I don't have time for God because I have so much to do? It is so easy to just stay home and watch the church service in my pj's with coffee, plus if I don't like the sermon or song, I can turn it off. My kids have so many activities that church events take second place. It might be as simple as I just do not feel like reading, studying, praying or going to fellowship events, and I certainly do not want to be asked to do something for God, I have...

So much written at one another, about one another, telling one another about solutions to fix and repair all the problems in our personal lives and the world.  Why not focus on self? “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.”   - Colossians 3:1-4 Peace??? Struggling?  Life out of order? Don't know what to do? How can I fix everything? Failure? Pain?  Sin?  Unworthy? STOP  Live like this: “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.   ***Disclaimer: This is not posted for argument sake. Please read, ponder and respect. Today I weep. I just watched the footage released showing the fatal shooting of Patrick Lyoya. I am very disturbed in my soul. Without the privilege of all the information about the incident and only seeing the footage, my initial reaction is that ALL the senseless killing must stop. Please hear me, I said ALL. I am not attacking law enforcement or individual citizens, I am pleading for it to stop. I wonder, why is Patrick Lyoya dead today? Yes, he ran, yes he resisted, and yes he is dead. Did he need to die? Did he deserve to die? License plates and fleeing deserve death? Lord in your mercy hear our prayer. Was the police officer afraid of what was next as well? Was he concerned for his well being because of the circumstance? Possibly. But....... I still wonder why?
