I remember my first dog Princess. She was my best friend growing up and everywhere I went on our 20 acres, she was with me. We would play, we would run, we would rest and she was with me. If dad and I were doing something, she was there. Sometimes when we were playing football with some friends, she was under my feet playing right along.
I remember a warm sunny day when I was just tired and wanted to lay down on the top of the hill and close my eyes, she was right there with me. I was on my back with my eyes closed. The sun was beaming down on me, warming my face and I was ready to sleep. Right next to me was Princess. She was with me. She was my friend, my companion and my protector. When it was difficult inside the house, I would go be with her outside the house and everything was better. Princess was such a good dog. She brought me comfort and peace.
You know, God is with us wherever we go. Everything I described about my Princess is how God desires to be with me through the presence of the Holy Spirit. In fact, the Holy Spirit is bigger, better and brings more to the table than the best dog companion ever! Seriously, my dogs love me more unconditionally than any other on this earth. But God desires and loves me unconditionally more.
Jesus Christ is with us always through the presence of the Holy Spirit. God is there when we play, when we struggle, when we fail, when we work and when we rest. God is our faithful companion. I had a great example we called Princess, Jesus comes as the Prince of Peace! Will you rest with the peace and presence of God?

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.” - 2 Corinthians 1:3-5
