In the beginning creation was pure and complete. Everything was provided, everything was perfect and everything was good. There was perfect relationship between God and Creation. Humanity was created and in the relationship we strive for today!
In the garden there became a need to know. There was a forbidden tree, humanity and a temptation to step outside of God's perfect relationship so that all knowledge would be known. The position of humans could become equal with the position of God. By disobeying God humanity could now make their own way in their knowledge and seek greatness becoming more than our creation intended for us to become.
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” - Genesis 3:4-5
Disobedience in the Garden has created the world we live in today. Sin created separation. Sin took away the perfectness of what Creation was intended to be for us. Knowledge became the driving force behind our purpose in life while selfishness and pride have risen to our world being out of alignment with the Creator and in control of the creation.
Easter is the celebration of perfect alignment being set in place for humanity to be able to have the perfect garden relationship restored to eternal alignment with the Creator.
Sin still abounds. Society is in a real mess right now because of the choices of humanity starting in the garden and continuing into the present and will continue into the future. But there is a Garden realignment available in remembering the gift of Easter Resurrection!
Jesus is the answer! Jesus told Martha this good news when Lazarus had died! Jesus made his words true when Jesus was raised victorious from the grave!
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” - John 11:25-26
Live as Easter people who are headed back to the Garden for the perfect relationship promised by God!
"Yes, Lord, I believe!"
Peace,
PB
