My dog Gabby thinks I am the best ever. When I come home she prances and dances around like an 80lb. puppy. She paws at me puts her head down in submission and just wiggles her body in every which way she can! If I go outside with her, when she is done with her business it becomes play ball time. There is nothing better that day than playing ball with me! The joy on her face is priceless and the bounce in her step is regal! She loves me and she just wants to have quality dad time! She is such a joy for me and such a reminder that I must be alright!
What else is awesome is that it does not matter what I think, my politics, my theological struggle and posturing and even what I wear. Gabby loves me for who I am. She adores me for being her dad. She want to play and spend time. If she does do something wrong there is quick remorse and she moves on back to the spirit of play and being with me. She crawls up on the chair next to me and wants my attention. All Gabby wants is me.
I wonder if God put my dogs in my life to remind me how much I am loved by God? All God wants is us. God does not care what we think about politics and religion or even what we wear. God cares how we live as redeemed people of God who have God hanging out with them! God just desires relationship with us. God quickly forgives when we seek forgiveness and God adores us playing and dancing before the Lord. Our relationship with God is not intended to be a ritual of practice, but a playful spirit loving and celebrating God in our lives. God just want us to embrace the love offered to us and just to crawl up in our chair and wants our attention.
Yes, it is important to do all the things we do for the Lord God, but perhaps we need to not be in a formal relationship with God, but seek the God who prances and dances when we simply return to play in the amazing grace and presence of God.
Friends, God just desires us. God desires you, God desires me! Bask in the love and provision of God!

“I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: “Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God. He’ll wipe every tear from their eyes. Death is gone for good—tears gone, crying gone, pain gone—all the first order of things gone.” The Enthroned continued, “Look! I’m making everything new. Write it all down—each word dependable and accurate.” - Revelation 21:3-5
