Today would be my sister Barb’s 69th Birthday if she were still with us. She is in her eternal place of peace waiting for all of us to join her someday when we go home.
Barb and I used to laugh. Barb and I used to cry. I tell people Barb was my twin sister who happened to be 10 years older than me. I miss Barb. There are times where I weep because I miss her so much. She was more than a good person who loved people and most importantly loved Jesus passionately.
So what would Barb want for her birthday today? I believe Barb would want all of her family and friends to have a love relationship of grace and forgiveness with Jesus Christ as their Savior. I believe Barb would want each one of us to love others regardless of whatever differences we have with one another. I believe Barb would want justice for the oppressed and the least. I believe Barb would do all she could to help others be saved in the grace of Jesus Christ. There would be no better birthday gift to Barb than for this to happen.
Barb is not here. But we are…..
I believe Barb would also want us to carry on what she was passionate about, sharing the love gift of Jesus Christ with all the people of all the world. I also believe Barb is cheering us on as we share this unbelievable gift of salvation God has afforded us. She, along with many other Saints gone home are rooting us on!
“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.”
- Hebrews 12:1-2 Message
We better get with it! Happy Birthday Barb!!!! I miss you……
Peace,
PB
