On a recent trip to the town I grew up in, I had a moment where I went to the cemetery where my Dad and Mom are buried and my Grandparents, my Dad's parents are buried. We recently purchased some property in the same cemetery for our final earthly resting place. Our friend and local funeral director Bob met me there and showed me where the graves I purchased are located. I stood there and looked around to see how far I will be from the rest of the family. It really is a very calm beautiful area, but when I looked in every direction, I thought about my mortality and honestly, for me, when I die it really does not matter. I am an imperfect human vessel with the perfect Spirit of God living in my soul. I strive for perfection in love. I desire to treat all I encounter as the image and likeness of God which they were created as. I desire to live my life in the footsteps of the One in whom I do not deserve to hold the thong of His sandal. I just want everything I do to be pleasing to God. I fall short, I repent and I get back up, dust myself off and continue to strive to live like the Jesus I proclaim.
My shell will be placed into the earth. My eternal spirit will be in a new home where this earth does not matter anymore. I will be in the eternal presence of God the Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer and will be singing my new lungs out with praise for the glory of the Lord!
I own nice property here on this earth, but I have the best place ever waiting for me!!!! Praise be to God!
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” - Revelation 21:3-7
