I remember going to Cedar Point as a child. Dad would give me a $10.00 roll of quarters for me to play Skee Ball. I loved playing and winning stuffed animals with all of the tickets I won. Dad would always tell me that money was all I got. When it was gone, it was gone. But Dad also always provided for my other needs the rest of the day at the park. He would buy me food and make sure I was taken care of! He met all of my needs. I did not get everything I wanted, but I did get enough!
When we become children of God, we are adopted into the family and are promised that all of our needs will be cared for. We are heirs to eternal life and when we live as children of God in the Spirit of God we will have everything we need and it is enough. Yes we will go through difficult times and suffering, but Romans 8 promises us as we go through the sufferings, we may also share in God's glory.
We do face struggles on this earth. We may suffer, but we will rejoice!
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” - Romans 8:14-17
Abba, God provides enough!
Peace,
PB
