"I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me. In any case, it was kind of you to share my distress." -Philippians 4:12-14
This is one of the passages of scripture I have always focused on one verse, Philippians 4:13. But in the passage Paul is telling the readers that he understands being in need and that God will always meet the needs. AND letting the Philippians know that they were the only church to share in his giving and receiving. He encourages them to continue to do what is right, thanking them for sharing in his distress.
My pondering today is that the followers of Jesus need to be Jesus to help others along the way. When I claim I can do all things through Christ, I need you to encourage me and be Jesus Christ in skin for me. Thank you for being there in my distress!
Peace,
PB
