How about you?
I see and hear a lot of comments about others. I hear how others should be living and doing the routines of their lives. There are many reports about how they live, what they say, how they act and what they meaning the other, should do to live right.
Scripture is often quoted and used at others. It can be used to prove something we believe about others. It is often pointed to prove a point in a debate or even as a tool of proof in a disagreement. Scripture can become words to prove a stance or a side seeking validation of a stance on an issue or lifestyle.
I wonder if the Bible becomes a tool to destroy rather than a tool o bring life?
How about you?
How do you read? Do you read and study with the intent of changing others or do you read and study with the intent of changing and challenging yourself?
I understand reacting to the world and others. I understand how the scriptures fit into the corporate life of the church and all believers being examples of the Jesus we follow. I completely understand!
But, I ask, HOW ABOUT YOU? Are YOU transformed in your mind and heart by your complete relationship with the Savior of humanity, Jesus Christ?
I strive to read and study from the perspective of how I live my life and how I need to grow and how I am to be a disciple for Jesus Christ to transform the world. I strive to share how it has changed me.
So as I share this passage, I ask how about you? Are you living what you are reading, studying and believing?
“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” - Romans 12:3-8
Perhaps we need worry less about others and begin with ourselves.
How about you?
How about me?
Peace,
PB
