I am left handed. It is difficult to be left handed in a right handed world. This became a simple reality to me as I was constantly spilling coffee from the coffee pot while pouring it with my left hand. I tried every possible way to adapt to pour the coffee with my left hand and did not have success. No matter how hard I tried, at times with minimum success, I eventually had to pour the coffee with my right hand to avoid the constant spills of the coffee on the counter.
Sometimes I try to impart my will, desires and understanding into the will, desire and understanding of God. No matter how hard I try I can find myself having minimum success but missing out on the smooth dripless pouring out of the Spirit of God. When my sinful desires overtake the striving for God's desires I create a mess. Often it is not as bad as other time, but sometimes there is a great amount of spillage to clean up.
“This is what the Lord says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.” - Isaiah 48:17
Peace,
PB
