Last night I used 2 Chronicles 7:14 in a Facebook Live post to call out people to pray for our country. We need to pray. We need God to heal this land. So I covenant with you to continue in such prayer and I encourage you to pray as well.
“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place. For I have chosen this Temple and set it apart to be holy—a place where my name will be honored forever. I will always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 NLT
Are you called?
Are you surrendered?
Are you humble?
Are you passionately chasing after God?
We need to be prepared to pray as well. We cannot just pray in a moment of need. We must grow in our prayer and our continued surrender of the sins that hold us back.
Then pray!
God will forgive our sins and heal our land.
This very familiar passage is set where Solomon had finished building the Temple and had dedicated it to the Lord. Remember the Israelites had lived lives where they were close to God and then turned away from God and then came back. Sound familiar? The verse today was part of God's response.
Today you and I are the Temple of God. God dwells within us. Is your Temple clean and clear? Are you humble? Do we pray selfishly against others because of things which divide us? Or do we pray for unity in Jesus Christ?
Please get your Temple cleared and really pray.
Peace,
PB
