Yesterday I was reminded of the difference God makes through my life. How was I reminded? People told me. I heard directly from them how God has used me to impact their lives. I was blessed and actually I am starting to believe what they say.
We flood funeral homes to remember the deceased and share with their loved ones the difference the deceased made in their lives. Why do we wait? Why do we wait until someone is gone on to eternity to affirm their efforts of love? Why do we not now look them in the eye, send them a card or share a call of some sort an tell them the difference they have made for us? We all need to know!
My friends, do you also realize your pastors always hear what is wrong, mistakes they have made and how they offended another? They carry a lot of your burdens, your pain and are constantly striving to find ways to bring you closer to the love and grace of Jesus Christ. They yearn for a thank you. They desire nothing more than knowing your story of how you allowed the Holy Spirit to move in their lives. Pastors just want an encouraging word from you.
I am blessed to serve in a church who does a good job sharing their hearts and appreciation with me. But honestly it is always encouraging to hear more! Not everyone experiences the gift of love and appreciation I receive, and honestly, has taken time for me to accept. It helps to receive often so that I believe in my heart!
Please take time to love on and appreciate your pastor. Please take time to talk to others who are not your pastor who have made a difference for you. Go back and find the foundation people in your life from your past and tell them the Jesus difference they have made. Flood them with the love and appreciation reminding them they are good, they are loved and they are Jesus to you.
Two things, 1.) I am not asking for myself, I am asking for others. I do appreciate your love! 2.) Please do not wait to go tell their family at their funeral. Please tell them now!
I wonder how we would act and be as a society if we all heard and understood how much we are loved and appreciated? It is simple, easy to do and is better than any gift you can purchase for anyone. How we love one another and tell one another is eternal!
“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” - Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT
Peace,
PB
