Jehoshaphat was under attack by many armies of many nations and God sent a message through one of the soldiers named Jahaziel.
He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!” - 2 Chronicles 20:15-18
The next day Jehoshaphat led the people through the wilderness with singers going before them singing;
“Give thanks to the Lord;
his faithful love endures forever!”The armies started fighting one another and the army of Judah was spared. When they arrived at the battle ground the fight had already been one.
Why do we have such little faith? We take up battle in places and situations where the victory has already been won. Do we listen to the voice of God leading and guiding us while we are in the wilderness? When we hear do we obey?
I believe God already has the victory before us, we just need to walk faithfully forward and trust the journey. I know, not an easy task at all, in fact one I fight each and every day.
So sing your hearts out and trust the ultimate victory ahead.
Peace,
PB
